This has always been my thoughts on immortality. Every time I start to think about "eternity" or "immortality" I start to think "but wait... if you can't die, where is the sense of adventure in life?" I think about all of the things we can do in our life, all of the wondrous adventure that's out there, but part of that adventure is actually living. As was stated once in the movie The Matrix: "Humans cannot live in a perfect world." We need that ability to die, that ability to do the wrong thing, in order to be able to truly live... That's why I'm afraid of what could come in the afterlife. If we really do enter a point where we can't die... what will our purpose be? Where will we find that desire to do things?

Also! Don't forget we have a tumblr if you want to drop us or any of the main characters a question! http://thechangingstone.tumblr.com/

Let me answer that as someone who dose wish to be Immortal....

Space.... is Vast.... you would need an eternity to explore it...

thats what i would live for...
and then... when space finally rips itself apart (the atoms will no-longer interact...) that is when i'd be ready to die :P as there would be nothing to explore.

@Ziliath: Ah, but, you're immortal... Even after all of the rest of space and time are ripped apart and completely destroyed, you will still live. When there is nothing left, you are still left, yet again left with no purpose and no reason to exist.

@EmilyAnnCoons: *"Even after all of the rest of space and time are ripped apart and completely destroyed, you will still live"*

witthout space and time, i dont exist... thats no different from death... the idea of destroying Space-time is to make the posiblity of living through it impossible...

I guess i should of prefaced my point with that i dont believe in a soul... so if i were to be immortal... it would be in Body only... destroy the body completely... destroy me.... i am the body.
it has occurred to me that you may not agree with that. but im sure we can agree on the idea that there are Many different types of immortalizes. one such is immortal to aging and natural death... and when space time ends... so dose the effects of imortality...

something that is Atemporal cannot change... even if i somehow "lived" past Space-time i would not be aware of it... because i would be Achronal

something that cannot change and cannot be aware of its existence....

would you agree that that is a concept that is synonymous with non existence?

anyway... i would like to be immortal until the ends of time... there is a Lot of space to cover....
